Nathan Dean
PRESIDENT & FOUNDING MEMBER
Nate is a 2012 graduate from Nelsonville-York where he played three sports (football, basketball and baseball). After graduation he attended Wilmington College where he also played football and baseball for the Quakers. After graduating with a bachelors in Sports Management, Nate attended Ohio University and received his masters in Athletic Administration. Nate has been coaching football and (some) baseball at NYHS since 2013 and is an original founding member of the NYHS Athletic Hall of Fame.

Steve Cox
FOUNDING MEMBER
Steve is a lifelong resident of Nelsonville and a very proud graduate of the Nelsonville York Class of 1974. A graduate of Hocking College, he has worked as a banker on Nelsonville's Public Square since 1975. He participated in a number of sports during his high school career and has remained active in NY athletics since his high school days as a coach, referee and scorekeeper along with his current role as the announcer for Buckeye football, volleyball, and basketball. His wife Debbie, daughter Kelly and son Casey are all Nelsonville York graduates and remain proud supporters of their alma mater.

Cheryl Nunnally
FOUNDING MEMBER & CLASS OF 2019
Cheryl was born and raised in Nelsonville and continues living there today. She graduated from Nelsonville-York in 1968 as the first class following consolidation. She spent 4 years at Ohio University earning her bachelors degree in education in 1972, and ended up back at Nelsonville-York teaching PE and Health. Because Title IX had recently passed she was able to begin programs in volleyball, softball, and track, plus continue a fledging program in basketball. She coached for 16 years and taught full-time for 18 years, followed by subbing for 24 years. She married Kurt Nunnally and they have 2 sons, Scott and Shawn. At OU she discovered golf, tennis, and volleyball and she still plays golf today. She also loves to read, garden, and walk their 3 Scottish Terriers. She will always call Nelsonville home and she’s very happy to have spent her life there. Otherwise you could say she’s gone to the dogs!

Whitney Maiden
2017 INDUCTEE
Whitney graduated from Nelsonville-York High School in 2005, lettering in volleyball, basketball, and track & field. After high school she played varsity volleyball at Ohio University for 4 years and received a BA degree in Psychology. After undergrad, she went on to get a Masters in Business Administration from the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University. Whitney now lives and works in Columbus, Ohio but enjoys returning to Nelsonville to spend time with her parents and support the Buckeyes.

Greg Warren
NYHS HISTORIAN
Greg is a lifelong resident of the Nelsonville area and graduated from Nelsonville High School in 1966. He participated in football, basketball and track for the Greyhounds and was class president his senior year. A 1970 graduate of Ohio University, he served two years in the US Army before returning to Nelsonville. His wife Sheila, son Brian and daughter Brandy all graduated from Nelsonville-york. Greg served several years on the Nelsonville-York School Board and the Tri-county Vocational School Board. He is retired from the Ohio Department of Health after 32 years.

Greg Jones
2017 INDUCTEE
A 1984 Graduate of Nelsonville-York, Greg lettered in both track and football at NYHS. After graduation, he attended Ohio University on a track scholarship and graduated with a BSED and a MSPE. Greg currently teaches and coaches at Logan High School.

Jay Kline
2020 INDUCTEE & NYHS ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Jay is a 1985 graduate of Nelsonville-York High School. As an athlete her lettered in both football and basketball. After high school he went on to Ohio University and graduated with a degree in Education. He has since taught and coached at Nelsonville-York for 28 years and is currently the NY Athletic Director.
