Jack Simon

Jack Simon was a football announcer and Buckeye fan to the end. Jack's voice and dedication to the sounds of Boston field would be difficult to measure. Jack's voice and phrases would be synonymous with those fall evenings inside Boston Field. Some of which the older patrons still mumble, "brought down by mother nature" when a player loses their footing or many of his other phrases, such as  announcing the start of each play with  “Lawson over the Ball, Robey under the Center, setting the Troops”

Likewise, Jack's voice seemed to always fit and always expected to hear right at kickoff. Jack's tenure at Nelsonville-York has surpassed many and has commentated through multiple coaches.

It did not matter which sport, player, or coach. Jack always had a kind word, a joke, and always a stick of Juicy Fruit for anyone supporting the brown, white, and orange. It would be hard to reminisce about Buckeye football or the Tradition of Excellence without considering the impact of Jack Simon.
